Worthy is the lamb

Holy, holy, holy is the Lord, God almighty!
Worthy is the lamb!

Every drop of moisture, every grain of sand.
Everything that breathes, everything that moves,
on the ground, in the air, and under the water
vegetable, animal, mineral, solid, liquid, and gas.

It all cries out: worthy is the Lamb!

The word by which the universe is created.
Come in the flesh, as a sacrificing servant.
Raised from the dead, raised above all
God’s crowning achievement, born of God
and a lowly maiden, grown in wisdom and stature,
well pleasing to the Father, sacrificed to save a sinful world.

Able to destroy the world with a single word.
Naked and on his knees washing the feet of his friends.
Gathering children in his arms, granting salvation
to the household of a rich tax collector.
Granting forgiveness to a woman who has drawn power from his garments
and another who has been spared execution by writings in the dirt

The blind can see. The lame can walk. Captives have been set free.
Foretold in prophecy. Believed by those who have not seen.
His Holy Spirit, co-counselor, promised and delivered,
equal in power, wisdom, and love, living among us
bestowing peace and might in equal measure,
making us capable and strong, courageous and determined,
assuming our places as disciples and servants in their image.

Everything accompanied by an all-powerful-LOVE.
How can we not cry out, “Holy! Holy! Holy! Worthy is the Lamb!”
