ambushed. sabotaged. shanghaied.
setup. knocked down. swept away.
but the truth is, i’ve been thrown
out of better places, under worse circumstances
so, i dust my hat and trousers off
and get on down the road.
i’ll spend some time with my wife and puppies
enjoying nature and writing songs
i’ll stop to smell the roses and listen to god
pour out his word on my heart and ears
i’ll reconnect with my muse and write some
revelation on the pages of my journal
and there is nothing sad about it
i’m free to continue on the journey
God has laid out before me
a little self-care and “me time” are as welcome
as white clouds and blue sky after the rainy season
