A Bold Act of Love

This is My commandment, that you love one another, just as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that a person will lay down his life for his friends.

 John 15:12‭-‬13 NASB2020

Do we love each other with the self-sacrificing love that Jesus calls us? Do we put aside our pride, ego, desires, and preconceptions? Is the LOVE of Christ our focus above satisfying our physical, emotional, or spiritual needs? Do we lack His strength, courage, and willingness? Or is his example and commandment a perfect solution to accomplish the Father’s will? We lay down our lives for the ultimate honor and glory of participating in His LOVE. From subjects of the creator of the universe to brothers in arms (friends) to the Most High King, we accept the transformation. Enabled, empowered, and appointed to lay down our lives for our friends (and His LOVE.)

No longer do I call you slaves, for the slave does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, because all things that I have heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me but I chose you, and appointed you that you would go and bear fruit, and that your fruit would remain, so that whatever you ask of the Father in My name He may give to you.

John 15:15‭-‬16

We receive supernatural knowledge of His will, discover the courage to carry it out and demonstrate the certain confidence that bears fruit. The motivation is not personal. The reward is not based on results or abilities. The essential perspective is not founded on human experience. It is all established on His mandate to lay down our lives—a bold act of devoted love for others.

Jesus, make us bold. Call us friends. Please show us the Father’s will. Raise our awareness of your appointment. May our service become sacrificial. May our devotion become fearlessness. May your LOVE become our way of life.
