Lift Up Your Eyes
Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens:
Isaiah 40:26 NIV
Who created all these?
He who brings out the starry host one by one
and calls forth each of them by name.
Because of his great power and mighty strength,
not one of them is missing.
God has never misplaced a star. He has never lost a battle. There is no “Plan B.” He has designed and purposed all of our lives with perfect precision. Our flaws (sin and the fall) are the results of turning away from Him.
To take us back into right relationship with Him we must be made perfect. This happens only when we give up our human rights and tendencies and place our trust in His Son. Jesus’ examples and commandments (and God’s word) teach us to face all temptation with wisdom, strength, and courage. We don’t have to walk away! Our paths have been made perfect in Him who made The Way.
Lord Jesus, fill us with your Love. Strengthen us with your Might. Fortify our obedience with your Passion. Let the light of your Glory illuminate our path. If we falter, tell us again who we are In You. More than conquerors. Co-inheritors of your kingdom. Believers of your word. We worship you and you are Holy. Your Worth covers all our debts. Nothing is owed us, yet you enrich us abundantly. We owe you all, but all you ask is our obedience and love.
