Darkness in Our Hearts

Darkness in our hearts (disobedience.) Danger in our mind’s eye (fear.) Unforgiveness in our spirit (bitterness.) Without some catalyst for change, our soul is a dark abyss. We need a savior and a spirit rather extraordinary to our own.

The necessity of the Holy Spirit is as definitive as the laws of physics. “For out of the heart come evil thoughts [and acts]” Mt. 15:19, NASB. A spirit with the attributes of God, standing in the gap, facing the accuser, and fulfilling the requirements of righteousness (Rom 1:17.)

Thank God! He provided a way. “The Way.” A narrow and constricted way (Mt. 7:14.) All we have to do is choose it. Choose Him! His pursuit of us is boundless. Our response should approach reciprocity. Then we might participate in His joy.

Lord, pull us out of the darkness. Give us strength to face the perils (real and imagined.) Replace unforgiveness with amazing love. Wash us, clean as snow! Show our spirits “The Way!” With thanksgiving and adoration, we welcome your Spirit and grace.
