In the town of Juxtaposition, Serendipity sleeps with Synchronicity whenever Fortune is out of town. Her sister Fate relays the details to Gossip and her circle of heralds every Tuesday morning at tea. Fate loves her sister, Serendipity, but not as much as she loves Melodrama. Melodrama has it in for them all and enlists her friends, Chaos, Havoc, and Confusion, in her efforts to bring them before the town judges, Ruin and Dispair.
