To Walk With God

Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away.

Genesis 5:24 NIV

To walk with God. Is there any greater aspiration? It’s something we can’t do by our own power of will. Just a few steps, and we falter. But if we keep our eyes on Him (Jesus) and lose our perspective, we can Keep up. The second we take notice of ourselves or our circumstances, below the waves, we sink. At that point, all we can do is call on Jesus and reach out to Him. He is always there to catch us.

We must stay focused to keep up with Him, which takes discipline and devotion. It starts with a commitment to obedience to the principles laid out in His User’s Manual and involves daily conference calls. It’s not about daily or weekly performance but about the progression of sanctification. The more we seek to walk with Him, the more grateful we become as we realize every little blessing that comes from walking with Him.

Lord, we are grateful for our walk with you. Nothing you ask of us is too great. So take us and make of us as you will. Pick us up when we falter and cry out to you. Clean our wounds and set us back on our feet so we can walk some more with you.
