Long Have I Been Adrift

Long have I been adrift
Confused and slightly miffed

Searching for clues to mysteries 
Peering into an unseen breeze 

Lost on a path, clearly posted 
As a trailblazer, I've often boasted 

Redeeming my station is quite vain 
If there's nothing more valuable to gain 

Abandoning the ego is a good start 
Supreme necessity—a softened heart 

Temperament recast as serene resilience 
Vacating the demand for dark sentiments 

Additional analysis of the tendency of my life 
Reveals it's more about empathy than strife

Seems she ran aground on manoeuvres
