Everybody Get Together

Hello, muse. What have you to say? Wisdom or jest? Comforting embrace or perplexing challenge?

Invoking the muse

When we press our backs against the wall, do we draw support from having something solid behind us? When we cross our arms and stand firmly, do we absorb stability from the ground? How long will it take us to discern that any strength, equilibrium, or peace we acquire from any behavior originates from within ourselves? The real power comes from communicating and sharing these expressions of ourselves with others.

Strength in numbers
Iron sharpens iron
You've got a friend
I'm here for you
Hand in hand
Or arm in arm
In this together
I got you, babe

Sharing hope with others is a most noteworthy practice. A fuller recovery occurs when it is not attempted alone. Fellowship requires other fellows and cures the loneliest blues—confession and seeking pardon near impossible in a vacuum. Socializing digitally is no replacement for a hug or a shoulder to cry on.

Everybody get together and try to love one another right now

Get Together by Chet Powers, recorded by The Kingston Trio, The Youngbloods, Jefferson Airplane, and others

[Jesus] answered, “’ […] and, ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’”

Luke 10:27 NIV
