Over The Horizon

This entry is part 6 of 8 in the series Promptings, Inklings, & Clues

Forgetting to Breathe

Remembering progress. Letting Go. Pressing onward. Pushing through heartache. Seeking wisdom and hope. God’s priorities. Naming the Muse.

For Want of a Name

Perhaps letting go of expectations is not the easiest form of progress. Altogether vacant is the mind of the sage. His desires are left behind on the empty plane. His focus tuned to the white noise of a self-seeking nature abandoned. His taste for sustenance dialed down to a thin white line.

Over the Horizon

There lurks a menace bent on the destruction of the soul. Hungry for his supremacy, the beast seeks to devour all that is beautiful and precious. He is focused on mangling order and coherence. Perched on a pile of bones, bleached white by a hammering of solar rays and toxic winds that never stop blowing. Defeating the menace will take all of our resources and all of our collective strength. No guarantee that victory won’t be less than worth of the cost. But giving up is not in our nature, and surrendering to evil compounds evil. For the sake of the innocent, we must find a way.
