C’mon Muse! I’m a man with a purpose, not a character in a play. I’ve got stories to tell and vivid descriptions of emotional hardships and breakthroughs to detail. Long seasons in the wilderness and miraculous reunions permeate the narrative. Motherless tragedies and generations of shame and neglect pave the only path to freedom and healing some of us ever get. Looking back I can see beauty and love in the darkest storms and loneliest nights and forward lies wisdom, forgiveness, and strength.

New Adventures In Grace

I’ve got tools and techniques, confidence and determination, validation and support, and respect for my resilience. Oh yeah, and a smile upon my face. God willing, I’ll make it to the way-station with time to enjoy a meal, loosen my collar and visit with the children. And even if I don’t they will say he pressed on with courage and style. And grace!

Putting Forth The Effort

Entering the arena with nothing but a notebook full of poems and sketches, our protagonist waves to his friends in the crowd and blows a kiss to his bride. He’s prepared for this moment day and night for years. He’s assured, almost cocky, as he thumbs through his journal, searching for his opening remarks. He’s done this a thousand times, but he feels this one has to be just right. It may be his swan song and no matter the outcome he will come out swinging!
