Without An Audience

I fiddle about as I greet the day
Exploring words as I find my way

Pulling forwards and back again
It's always been hard to say when

Purpose thrives on the penning of words
I'm often distracted by the singing of birds

Similar to storing old pennies in jars
Or attempting to count all the stars

If no one ever acknowledges the form
Then why did I survive the storm

Without an audience to share the discovery
There's really no substance in recovery

So I try to stay focused on the healing
If there is an onion, it needs peeling

Accepting release of the past as blessing
Assurance there will be less obsessing
