One More Trip Down The Tubes, Please?

Everybody competing to be the first to wait at the next (STOP!) LIGHT. Chasing oblivion, trapping beautiful creatures in cruel traps, and exhausting all the remaining resources.

Comparing the shininess of their egos. Charging admission for their offspring’s right to exist. Progeny as luxury. Disposable essentials and mandatory upgrades.

Complaining about waiting in line for the right to burn down their surroundings. Trading hope for desolation and abandoning honor for one more trip down the tubes.

Pumping toxicity into their veins and racing the devil to the summit. Extending their stay in an inhospitable realm that was intentionally manifested as a closed loop.

No time left to turn the ship around. So it’s “full steam ahead” until the oceans dry up.

Riding the updraft into a sky that is on fire, looking back at their origin with indifference, and clinging to their delusion.

A little foresight and adherence to principles and wisdom might have made room for a bit of beauty. A cozy little place we ALL could have called home.
